I have a 4 year old female guinea pig.  Is it too late to introduce another female pig for company?

Hey Cyndi,

At that age, your piggy is starting to become an old lady. Unless she seems unhappy without a partner piggy, I don't think it would be a good idea to inteoduce her to another - not so much for the 4-year-old, as the likelihood is that she might welcome some company in her old age, but for the younger, new piggy. This is because your current piggy is getting older, and may die soon. This would cause the new piggy to go into a state of gried that may leave her very ill.

Plus, a younger, new partner may irritate your current piggy, as the energy of the new piggy may annoy her and weatr her out.

So unless your piggy seems lonely, then I advise that you dont get her a companion.
