Question
hello,
i have a male guinea pig and he is the best and very cute. sometime when i get home from scholl to go and clean out his cage, i find tha he has trampled all over his own droppings, and i find that most of the droppings is on his feet and on his fur. would it be safe and healthy to give him a bath, and if it it is okay to give him a bath is it okay if you tell me how??

Answer
Hi

You can give your piggy a bath but I would recommend you dont do it more often than every 3 months as most pigs simply dont like it.

I bath my pigs in a shallow sink with a small amount of water already in. I use special small animal shampoo that you can get from all good pet stores.

You usually have to dilute the shampoo in water and pour over pig gently and massage into the fur then rinse thoroughly.

The most important thing to remember is to ensure he is fully dry before he is put outside if that is where he lives.
