Hello Andy,
I'm going to get a guinea pig for the first time and I just want to know: what type of guinea pig is best and what their diet should be.

Take a look at the website below which answers these questions plus gives tips on helping him settle in etc.

The only thing I would say about type of pig is that you pick one that is obviously healthy.
