Guineapig biting...

Question
hello, I have a guinea pig that is about 2 1/2-3 months old now. He is the fourth guinea pig that I've had but he's a bit... "nibblier" than my previous ones. I don't think its necessarily defensive biting so much as him mistaking a hand for food. but he hasn't seemed to realize the difference between flesh and lettuce this entire time. he takes a good amount of time sniffing over the hand or arm or whatever then takes a test licking or nibble before he decides to actually attempt to eat the hand, arm, nose etc. One difference I will note from my previous guinea pigs is that his cage has a side door as well as one on the top and because of where i have him in my room I've been feeding him from the side door- and maybe that's contributed to it more. anyway i wasn't sure if you would have any suggestions as to how to help train him out of this habit- or if its something that you think he might just out grow after a while. I have made sure to handle him gently and talk soothingly to him and such- so I'd like to think it isn't a reaction to any mishandling on my part and he has been improving with me- but definitely not with my suit mate, and he still does it frequently with me. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated! :)

Answer
Hello Mia!
I dont know! I have had two other nibblers and one did just that, but only ever gave me a friendly chomp, nothing breaking skin or too painful. She still does that today.
The other pig was violently chomping at my fingers, but never my husbands or little sisters. He eventually grew out of it.
I am sorry its not much, but I guess the most you can do is grin and bear it. Also try moving your hand ;)
