guinea pig pellet question

The food pellets I put in my piggies dish always look like ground pellets after a few hours. Are they chewing it up and spitting it back out or what? Am I possibly giving them too much hay and veggies to cause them to do this if that's what they're doing?

The pellets look that way cause your piggies are eating their pellets after drinking some water. The fur around their mouths are wet which causes the pellets to look ground. Nothing to worry about, just make sure there are enough whole pellets in their bowl. Guinea Pigs are messy when they drink water normally, though some Guinea Pigs are not as messy when they drink their water. I have this problem with one of my girls. Just make sure that there is still plenty of whole pellets in their bowl.
