guinea pigs acting strange

hello, my girlfriend got a guinea pig about a month ago and she says it has been acting weird lately. she says he usually cews on his cage a lot but lately he hasnt been or he does it really softly. she also says that he seems more jumpy and scared. and he aslo usually loves these veggie snacks she gets him but hasnt been eating them. he also has been drink less water then usual but even with all this he sqeeks happily like he always has.

Have her check his teeth. He sounds like he may have broken a tooth. A vet can file them off even again without much trouble if that's the case. If not tell her to watch him very closely for signs of illness. He may be starting to get sick. Some of the more common things to watch for are discharge from the eyes and/or nose, lethargy, diarrhea, not eating, and not pooing. If he stops eating, he'll need to be force fed and he'll need to see the vet right away. Check his teeth first though. He sounds like he's acting like my cage biters when they break a tooth.
