small gnats flying around cages

Just recently, I have noticed many small gnats flying around our 2 cages.  One cage had so many that they were covering the wall.  The other cage in the livingroom is starting to get more too.  Can I get some type of treatment for the bedding or a spray?  It's really beginning to get out of hand and I can't risk infesting our home. If I can't get this under control soon, we will have to get rid of the guineas.  Have you every heard of this problem and can you give any advise, quickly?

Yes you can buy some type of gnat bomb or fly spray and bomb the room or spray it! Look at your local department store or hardware store. I would call your vet to see which kind of fly spray they recommend to use around pets! But when you spray or bomb the room be sure to take the cavies out of the room and let the room air out before putting them back!
