Question
Cut face
Cut face
I think I had asked you about my 2 boars before, but they seemed to have calmed down a little after being next to each other for a while, so I decided to see how things went if they were together during floor time.  There were typical dominant behavior shown, but nothing that I was too concerned about, so I decided to remove the partition between their cage.
They stayed on their own sides for about 2-3 days, and then they decided to explore each others' sides.  I don't know how to attach videos to this website, but I will email you both videos.
Anyway, it has been about 3 days since they have started to venture over to each other sides, and it seemed like they were doing ok.  However, this morning I was holding the dominant piggy (the first one that I had), and he had a cut on his face :(.
They don't really seem to be fighting at all today, though.  I know the rule is generally to separate them if blood is drawn.  I don't want to separate them, though, if they might be better together.  In your opinion, should they be put into their own individual cages again?  Thanks for all of your help!!!!!

Answer
Since you actually didn't see the injury happen we can't really say the 'other guy' did it. Because this was the dominant pig that took the scratch that may indicate the the other one stood up for himself and let it be known he's done with this kind of thing and spoke up for himself.

The wound doesn't look like a bite and it's superficial. Not enough to even bleed to any degree. That's not the sign of a knock down, drag out "I'm gonna eat your face" injury and just may be the end of the "who's the boss" dispute. I have a feeling they may have come to terms now and things will be okay.

Looks like Boss Hog has decided to stay under his 'banky' and keep out of trouble! Doesn't look too intimidating now, does he?
