diahria

my guinea pig started out with diarhia and now he bleeds . he still has diahria but poops out blood.. what swhould i do
??

Hi Karen,

    I'm terribly sorry for the delay with this answer.  Diarrhea is a big problem in a guinea pig because it causes dehydration.  I suggest that you see a vet immediately.  Some of the things a vet will look for before prescribing antibiotics will be different parasites such as coccidia, and a gram stain and culture should be done.

    Bleeding in this area may be indicative of UTI or bladder stones, both of which a vet will be able to diagnose and treat.
