Guinea Pig and Rabbit feeding

Question
Hi,

My husband and i just got a 10 week old guinea pig as a campion for our non desexed male dwarf rabbit about 3 year old, his last campion another male lopped ear rabbit passed late last year and he has been a little lonely. I'm a little confused with what i have been reading with feeding times. The pellets i buy say they can be fed to both rabbits and guinea pigs, and my rabbit eats alot of the fresh food that has been listed for guinea pig. What's confused me is some websites say that guinea pigs can't eat a rabbits menu due to lacking in vitamin C. Can i feed them together or should i fed two separate meals. I have a big cage built next to our shed thats 2m long and 1m wide for them to live in together.

Answer
Hi Jessica,

Rabbits and guinea pigs eat the exact same food, and guinea pigs eat rabbit food and rabbits eat guinea pig food there isnt a difference. As long as they bother get vitamin C in fresh fruit and veg, then they will be fine. One food i reccommend for them to eat which they will love is parsley, and it is very high in vitamin C. Hope this helps.
