Malaclusion in guinea pigs

Question
two months ago my guinea pig developed an absess on her jaw, after much antibiotics it finally went down, however it permanently deformed her jaw and gave her severe malaclusion.  Under vet instruction I have been trimming her teeth as the vet showed me and I have been wetting down her food, however, she is not gaining weight and she drools a lot causing her chin to always be dirty so I have to bathe her at least once every 3 days.  Is this bathing bad for her so often?  I just don't know what to do, it is either she is always wet and dirty, or bathed a lot.  Please give any suggestions, also if you have any suggestions for weight gaining suppliments.

Well, couldn't you simply just wash the chin area?  Is there any reason you have to bathe the whole animal if all you're doing is wiping off drool?  That might help.  Unless you were planning on showing her, I wouldn't worry about washing her a lot, except that being wet can cause a guinea pig to get sick (pneumonia, etc.)  As for gaining weight, the easiest way to do that would be to feed a lot of fattening foods.  Have you tried milk sops?  Also, you may try 100% pure baby food (don't get any with additives) in flavors like carrot and banana, applesauce, etc.

Hope this is helpful.  If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me again.  Good luck!
