Wondering about my baby piggy

Question
Hi,
i sent a question to you earlier before about my older piggy being nippy and stuff to my other baby pigy, and she is still continuing to do it, and my baby piggy will squeel when my other one does this to her. do i need to do something about it, or is it just something every guinea pig does?
i also was wondering, when i got my baby piggy, a little while back, she was compleetly WHITE, but a couple days ago, i was looking at her fur and it looks a little pinkish. she doesn't seem to be acting funny like theres something wronge, i was just wondering what it could be from.

thanx so much!

Answer
Hi Becca,

It's all normal dominance stuff. I have a one year old sow who is never the boss of the group of four she belongs in, and she still squeals like it's the end of the world when she gets nipped by her buddies. Yet they all get on great at other times.

Provided they aren't constanty chasing and nipping, I would say just stick it out. She will learn to stand up for herself, just give her time. If it progresses to actual bites, or nipping ALL the time then I would look at maybe popping a divider between them, but for now they sound like they're doing everything normally.

Your younger pigs' hair may be thinning a little, showing her pink skin. Perhaps she had a thick coat and is just shedding a lot of it now, making it thinner and lighter. It's hard to say without seeing her, but that would be my best guess just going by what you wrote.

Best Wishes,
