Sick/Congested Guinnea Pig

Question
For the past three months my guinnea pig hasn't been having trouble breathing,s he seems to be very congested, you can hear the congestion, crusty nose and eyes. I took her to the vet a once i noticed the increase in the pace of her breathing - she was given a shot, and i was told it will help her somewhat but there is really nothing you could do further. My guinnea pig is about a year and a half old - is there anything I can do to help her? It must be so terrible to have this problem for so long - and I am really concerned that it will worsen. Please any suggestions, i am willing to try.

Answer
What she has is a severe upper respiratory infection. I have a lot of information on my website about this problem, as well as treatment. My website is http://woopets.bravehost.com , it is located on the guinea pig information page under common health problems. There are more things that you can do, listed on that page. Feel free to ask me any more questions.
