Answer
Hi Paige,

Sorry for the short delay in getting back to you. I have had increasingly problematic internet issues as well as having a very busy home life (newborn twins), so have had difficulties answering many questions over the past 2 weeks. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Biting is classed at puncturing the skin and drawing blood; what your piggies probably did was nip each other. Guinea pigs assert their dominance in quite nasty ways sometimes. Some dominance acts include:

Mounting
Chasing
Nipping
Rumblestrutting (rumbling noise and swaying butts)
Nose-offs
Scenting

Be sure both guinea pigs are females or both males, otherwise they will breed and you will have a very serious situation on your hands.

If you require any further help, let me know and I will be glad to assist.

Best Wishes,

- Laura
