shedding spots

I noticed that my adopted guinea pig has several little spots where hair is missing.  Could it be scars, something serious or is it shedding?

where are the spots and what sex is the guinea pig. it could mean a number of things. from scurvy or mites / fleas to cysts and other major or minor things. please contact me again with the answers so i can give you a proper response. if he lived with another guinea pig, the other one could have bitten out its hair due to love or lack of hay. please reply quickly.
