Question
my guinea is 3/4 yrs old. about a week ago stopped eating and got really thin. so we went to the vet and got some critical care and have been feeding it to her for the last 4 days. however, though she has been eating some of it, she has got weaker and remains skinny. at the moment she is extremely weak, doesn't really move and her eyes are nearly closed. any advice would be great. thanks.

Answer
Hi Laura.  I would continue doing what the vet said for starters.  Its not sounding to good for her.  Try giving her water with an eye dropper, see if she'll take it.  You can mix in 10% sugar if you want to entice her to eat.  Its really hard to figure out whats wrong without seeing your girl.  Try sprinkling sugar on her favorite veggies (make sure they're wet from rinsing so the sugar will stick), see if she'll eat that.  I'm sorry I can't offer you more advice, maybe a trip back to the vet will hinder more results.  She doesn't sound like she's going to make it much longer in this condition.
Sorry
