My new piggy has white crust

Question
i just got 2 little piggies today and the lady i got them from said one of them wouldn't breed, the one who wou ldn't breed has a white crust around her nipples, the woman said she maybe pregnant but she didn't think that she had bred. she does have a pudgy belly on her, but i thought that was normal. These are my very first piggs so I'm kinda in the dark about them. Could you maybe give me a guess about what the crust is? THank you very much.

Answer
Hello Amy,

The lady you got her from said that the Guinea pig didn't breed, if your piggie is definitely a female then she could well do have reproductive problems!

Another sign she may have this problem is if she runs around, mounts other females etc!

This sounds like infection of the uterus, (cysts), and can only really be cured by having your little guinea pig spayed.

However if you don't think you can really afford the operation etc, you have every right to take her back to the place you got her, and they have to give you a different one, as all guinea pigs they sell you should be in top condition!

sorry to hear about your problem
