Sleeping

Question
I was wondering how guinea pigs sleep. I just got a new guinea pig on friday and i didn't notice it until monday, but it looks like my guinea pig kind of shifts to one side with his eyes closed and his head is kind of sideways. It is making me nervous because I always thought they sit and sleep like on their two paw exactly even. I am scared he might be sick or something but he gets up and runs around and eats and drinks and all of that stuff. I was wondering if you could tell me how guinea pigs sleep.

A guinea pig sleep exactly as you described. Your guinea pig will lay on his side and close his eyes. It's the most adorable thing in the world! Guinea pigs never sleep like they stand. If they are standing, and their eyes look tired and they look tired, then they are a bit nervous and can't quite lay down. When they do lay down, it means they are completely comfortable and happy!  Sounds like you have a happy piggy!
