Moving pregnant sows

Hi, I don't know if you will be able to help, but i have just found out i have 2 pregnant sows but i am going on holiday in 2 weeks and from my calculations they are late into their pregnancy. So to get them 24 hour care and supervision while i am away, i will have to drive with them 45 mins, is this dangerous?

Also is it more likely they got pregnant on their first or second heat with the male? I would like to know so i can work out their dates better. Many thanks.

Firstly, it is impossible to say whether the pigs got pregnant during their first or second heat as both are equally likely.

I dont see any reason why a short car journey of 45 minutes should be a problem unless she gives birth during the journey!
