Sudden death of guinea pig

Question
We have kept 2 male brothers (now about 18 months old) together as house pets in a draft free environment, well fed and looked after.  They were both fighting over a piece of carrot this morning as usual, but my son phoned when he got home this afternoon to say that one of them had died.  There had been no signs of illness etc., and both appeared normal.  Upon inspection there is are visible clues except a faecae in his mouth.  We think he may choked?? Have quickly search the internet but have only come across respiratory problems, but he hasn't shown any signs of difficulty breathing.  Now we're a bit worried about the brother who is left.  I appreciate you cannot give definite answers, but any possibilities would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Su
this is a tough one.
Usually sudden death is a heart attack but your pig having a pellet in his mouth could indicate choking but its unlikely.Heart attacks can happen in young and older pigs.
Chances are he had a heart attack and just happened to be in the middle of reingesting one of his poops.
Kepp a close eye on your remaining piggy as he may fret for his brother and will need extra hugs.
