QUESTION: What to do when you have two female guinea pigs that are about 3 years old and one dies can we get another so they can be friends in the same cage?

ANSWER: Yes, but you have to slowly acclimate them to the same cage.

ANSWER: Try to get one about the same age/size. This will reduce issues.

QUESTION: ok thank you for your help two more quck questions 1: how do you know if the one by itself is lonely or not? and 2: is it actully a good idea to get another one or just leave the other one by itself and see how it goes and stuff?

Answer
It depends on the guinea pig because the need for a companion varies from pig to pig.

I suggest getting another one to help keep it entertained while you are not there.

As for telling if they are lonely or not, lethargy is the most common symptom.
