orange in guinea fur

Question
me again...
I recently noticed Roger with orange coloration
on his fur& didn't come off with his bath...
I thought it was dried blood
but it would have been brown... also I started giving
him and Daizee vitamin C tablets in the water bottle
is this something gone terribly wrong? or Are and the
tablets to blame? Oh yeah and one more thing there was
like a sorta bloody looking puddle in their house where
they go potty & instead of dried white stains on their
mats i have been seeing like blood orange stains on their mats... did i make them sick? or Is this normal? also no
changes in behavior just changes in the dried p.p. stains...
hope you can help & I hope nothing's wrong..

Answer
I don't think the Vit C had anything to do with the staining. If there were a bladder infection or one of them had bladder stones they would be in pain and typically not want to eat the same or move around as they usualliy do.

Since you're not seeing any symptoms other than this staining I can't imagine that there's anything actually wrong with either of them. Some vitamins will turn your urine a brighter color of yellow and I suppose could cause the yellow staining. But that's not a harmful thing in any way, it's just the dye in the tablets.

If Roger's bum is white the hairs on white pigs stain easily and are often difficult to get off. It should wear off in time. You might try holding off the Vit's in the water and see if that changes the color of the urine, or the stains on Roger's rear.
