Question
QUESTION: Hi
We got two female piggies 6 weeks ago. They were approx 3 months old when we picked them up and were told they were sisters. They are definitely two girlies i just double and triple checked!  Over the last week or 2 one piggie has grown quite allot bigger than the other in the belly area. They have healthy coats and are both eating well a bit of dried food and lots of fresh greens and fruit etc. Do you think she could be pregnant so young?
Please say no!
Thanks
Penny

ANSWER: Hi Penny

It is possible that she is pregnant. Perhaps you could weigh her for me which will give me a better idea.

QUESTION: Hi Andy
Thank you so much for replying. Chinky, (my son named them after Enid Blyton characters) the suspected dirty stop out, is 900g where as Dinky the good girl is 660g!!!! Blimey.
What do you think?
Thanks again Penny.

Answer
Hi again

Both weights are totally normal. Dinky is on the lower side of normal and Chinky is right in the middle of the range.

From Dinky's weight there is no reason to think she is pregnant but there are other factors to consider. I suggest you weigh her each day for a week and let me know if there is any appreciable weight gain.
