Question
i had bought female guinea  from a pet store.. i was told she was 2 mths and not pregnant. yesterday she gave birth to 2 babies..i wanted to know if i have a male in the litter when do i have to seperate mother and the female baby from male and also how do i know if it is a male or not.. the pet store will take the babies from me if i want

Answer
Usually females older than 6 weeks are pregnant at pet stores. I usually separate the males from females between 4-6 weeks of age. To sex a baby, press right above the pink area, in a male you will see a round dot which will extend out, in a female you will see a pointy triangle shape extend just a little. If you look up guinea pig sexing, there are pictures to help. I would wait to give the babies to the pet store till they are 6 weeks.
