petting my pig

Question
I have a baby pig. When I pet it on the rear it makes a purring-like noise. However, based on listening to pig noises on the internet it sounds similar to a noise they make when they are scared or nervous. Can you interpret if my pig likes that or not? Thanks!

Answer
Have you ever had a dog that you could scratch at a certain place and they kick their leg? This is like that. All of my piggies purr if I hit the right spot on their rear. They love it. Sometimes guinea pigs use the same noises for different things. Purring is when their rear is scratched, they are trying to impress a female, or when they are trying to show dominence to a male. Other noises are the same, for example, a loud squaking could be they are being hurt, or it could mean, you are walking across the room and they want your attention. Unless you pet the pig in a way that they try to get away from  you you or bite, then they like it. Let me know if you need anything else! Thanks!
