Baby defect?

Question
We bought two "male" guniea pigs back in December and now have 1 male and 1 female...what an amazing transformation!  Our female gave birth to 4 babies this morning and I think one might have a defect in it's back legs or hips as it has a very hard time getting around.  Is this common?  Do some guinea pigs take longer than other at learning to walk or is this one really lame?

Answer
Hi Randy Hobson

No it is not common but it can happen your baby should be ok but keep a close eye on it as this could lead into further problems later in life

The baby will take walking a big challenge but it needs to learn to get around the natural way it is not sick it just has a defect

One good thing is the chances are he will grow out of it eventually and things should be ok

All the best Good Luck
