Question
Hi. Ive had 2 pairs of guinea pigs from my local rescue. They were all suppost to be boys but i just got dave and little dave out to have a cuddle (this is part of a routine im building with them to help them gain my trust). On further inspection big dave i noticed has what i think is a hole insted of balls. And i now believe dave is pregnant as hes gone very closed off and vey blotted. Nipples are very distinguished now and im pritty sure that dave is pregnant and nearly due. Helppp!!!

Answer
This is one of the most common mistakes made from either pet stores or rescues. Not being able to properly sex guinea pigs inevitably ends up with a new family group. At this point there's nothing to can or should do other than separate the two 'daves' and keep them apart.

The gestation period is roughly 70 days. When you start to feel movement then delivery is about 2-3 weeks away. This would be a good time to really examine both daves so you get more comfortable telling the difference between the sexes. It's harder when they're very small, but not impossible.
