keeping two females who may be pregnant together

Question
I bought two guinea pigs from the pet store they were both pretty fat and i just thought they were just big but today one of them had babies and i'm wondering if they should still be together even if the other one might be pregnat also. The sow that did not have baies is the bigger one and i read somewhere that if this sow is pregnat the other sow giving birth may cause her to induce labor early so i just want to see if it is alright for them to stay together i tried to seperate them but the sow who did not have babies seemed to get really upset squealing all by herself   Thanks for your time.  Have a great day!

Answer
Usually if the females are getting along ok now then they will be fine to stay in together with all of the babies. However if one is upset or one is really posessive of the babies then it is best to separate then. I have never once had a case of one female inducing another early, you are already past that critical point anyway because the one mom gave birth, but the other should be due reall soon, probably with in a week or 2. If you think that they are starting to get upset with each other then by all means separate them, but if they are ok with each other then just leave them be. Good luck with your babies. Let me know if you have any more questions.
