QuestionWhen I first got my Guinea Pig she didn't eat to much hay and not a lot of pellets so I was feeding her a small handful of shredded lettuce or spinach a baby carrot and either a piece of cucumber or green pepper twice a day. Now she is eating a lot more hay and pellets should I be giving her less veggies (like maybe cut out the lettuce twice a day since there is no vitamin c in it)? I don't want to overfeed her.
If you don't have a scale how can you tell if they are getting fat?
Please help I don't want to kill my GP!!
AnswerHi Rebecca
I think you are right. Lettuce has almost no dietary benefit for your pig anyway, so you should only give this as a treat.
I think a good diet is pellets for breakfast and veggies for dinner way hay and fresh water available at all times.
A fat piggy isnt too much of a problem but well done for being so proactive to make sure she is as healthy as possible.
