Question
Thanks for your last response. One of my baby guinea pigs snowball seems to have small eyes and is weaker and smaller than her sisters but she is eating and drinking well. Her sisters are bigger than her and are white like snowy, with brown ears like wombat, while snowball is pure white.I am not sure if she is albino and what might this mean if she is? please

Answer
Snowball sounds like the runt of the litter. How long have the babies been nursing? Once they've been nursing for about a week to a week and a half, try taking the two bigger ones out so Snowball can feed. Or what I did when I had a runt was I took the runt and the mother, and held both of them. My runt found the teat, and by three weeks he was the size of the other babies. A guinea pig has only two nipples, so one baby is most likely not going to get enough. It's very important Snowball gets her fair share of milk. It will help her grow properly. Does Snowball have red eyes or are they blue? I believe most guinea pig babies are born with blue eyes just like humans. There's nothing wrong if she is albino. She's a perfectly normal guinea pig even if she is. I forget what makes an animal albino. I think it has something to do with chromosomes (or the lack of some). Look at Snowball as a unique blessing. :) Let me know how the babies are doing and if you have any more questions let me know! :) Thanks!
