Guinea pig caught cold?

21 14:04:42

Question
Hi. I have a question concerning guinea pigs and their reactions to a regular cold. I believe my own guinea pig might have contracted one, as she seemed to be suffering from diarrhoea and refused to accept treats, in addition to leaving most of her rodents' mix in the bowl. Currently, her eating is normal and she is putting on weight; although she appears to have lost her high food-squeak voice. Is she hoarse, or is there something else the matter? She is five years old and fit, fast and easy-going, and even during her supposed illness she was always eager for company and for being taken outdoors for fresh air and lush grass. If she has been ill, she has well disguised it.

Answer
Hi
if ther is breathing trouble you can pop a small dab if VICKS on her nose just to help her if she is stuffy.
You can also offer her some dark green cabbage or a segment or 2 of orange or tangerine to boost her vit C intake.
Just make sure she gets plenty of clean water and grass is also good.
Keep an eye on her weight,if she stops eating then please get back to me.
