Question
Hello my name is madeleine.
I have two guinea pigs and they are both about 6 months old. We thought they were both boys but they were rubbing againt each other, so we had a look and one had a penis and one didnt. We lightly pressed around the general regin of the other one that didnt have one and a penis didnt poke out of it. Do we have a boy and a girl and when can or will have babies?

Answer
Hello Madeline,
I cannot be sure whether you have a boy or girl guinea as I have not seen them. From your description it seems so but I would get an experienced person to check for you. The ideal age for a guinea to have baies is younger than 8 months though some people say younger than 12. When pregnant they usally have babies within 2 months and there little ranges from 2-6 babies. Monitorr your guinea carefully and if there are any problems consult your vet.
Best wishes
