My guinea pig has not been drinking or eating much the past few days. Today he is just laying and very unactive. He seems to be breathing ok, but I am concerned about his lack of energy and eating habits.

You should really take your guinea pig to a vet. It sounds like he has a respiratory problem or even a digestive problem. When a guinea pig doesn't eat it always means something is wrong. You need to hand feed your guinea pig immediently to keep his digestive track going. Here is a link on how to hand feed.
