Birth yet?

My guinea big is pregnant and she has built her nest but she hasn't been eating for 3 days(except for a little bit of carrot but probably more I might just not have seen), is she just preparing for birth?

Sorry it took me so long to answer! Most females about a week before giving birth almost go into a fast. Most likely, she is about ready to give birth. Do you know how far along she is? If she looks like she swallowed a watermelon side ways, then yes, she's going to give birth soon. This is perfectly normal for a guinea pig to not eat. If you want to confirm her giving birth, feel above her vaginal opening. Her pelvic bones should be either beginning to spread or are spread. You'll know the birth is coming if her pelvic bones are about you index finger's width apart. Make sure to be extremely gentle with her! The best of luck to you and your guinea pigs!
