my guinea pig has a problem

dear ryan,
      My guinea pig (who is female) we had her for about 2 years but we're not sure how old she is... but she has this lump sticking out of her stomache just below her front foot on the right side, it is sort of between her 2 right feet... we feel that there is nothing connected to it no veins or anything. just a lump. its not as hard as a bone but harder than a zit or a pimple. But its like cartlage. Please give us an answer asap.

Hello Marius and Gytis and thanks for the question.

How are your GP's urine and stool looking? I would advise going to the vet asap in any case but I CAN provide you with some "ideas".

It could be...

1) A calcium (kidney) stone. Do you feed the GP a lot of high calcium foods? Is the urine or stool "pink" or "red"?
2) A sore from mange. Is your GP getting enough vitamin C?
3) A cyst or tumor. This needs to be checked out by a vet.
