i have a guinea pig and have a harness and leash for him.i want to train him to walk with the harness on outside.but when he is inside,he will.but outside he wants to sit an eat grass all day?so how can i get him to stop eatting grass and go for a walk with me?

Answer
Ostara,

As long as there is grass around your Guinea Pig is going to go for it and chow down.

Unlike rabbits or ferrets, guinea pigs are grazing animals so when there is grass they'll walk over to it and start eating. It is natural instinct to do so and as such there is no way to get around it.

I've over the years have tried every I can think of to get them to walk along with out eating but nothing has worked so far.

I am sorry I could be of more help to you, but I just don't know of anything to get them to walk along without stopping to eat.
Take care now,
