Question
I have taken one of my guinea pigs to the vet and i was told that she has lice. The vet gave me sum smelly shampoo-like to use on her, but it did not seem to work. What I do to my guinea pig is i stratch off the little balls and dry skin off of her and she seems to love it, then I give her a bath with oatmeal shampoo. Although she hates the bath, afterword her skin is clean. I have to to this about every other week. Is this bad for her skin and her body? Please help.

Answer
Hi

Its normal to bath a pif approx every 3 months. It sounds to me that you just need an alternative shampoo treatment. You can try human anti-dandruff or anti lice shampoo.

Lice live on the skin rather than mites that live under it, so shampoo is the usual treatment.
