Guinea Pig may be sick

Question
Hi.  Our pig Odie is not looking well.   He smells, even after we bathe him.   He has this constant wet under his chin like his water bottle is constantly leaking on him but it is yellowish on his white fur.   He is still eating but seems to be losing weight.   Feces is still well formed but may be slightly soft.   I feel pretty sure he is sick, but not sure what to do.  Can you help?  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Dawn
when he eats does he gag? This could indicate teeth problems.
The wet under his chin could be drooling caused by spurs on the molars which your vet can grind down.
Take him to the vet for a check up on the teeth - your piggy WILL NOT NEED TO BE SEDATED to grind the teeth down. Its scary for him but it will not hurt and the sedation is more dangerous than the discomfort.
Your vet will look at the molars to heck for little spurs which will be scraping your pigs tongue as he tries to eat making it uncomfortable for him to chew.
Let me know how you get on xx
