Digging

My Guinea pig is about four months old and he just recently started digging in his bedding. I do not line the cage with anything so it makes messes on the bottom of the cage. Is digging normal? Does it mean he is not satisfied with the bedding? I also suspected that he might be board, how can I keep him occupied?

Digging is normal. My pigs do it when another male has been "on their turf".

In terms of boredom, you could either get him a friend (baby male) but this could lead to fighting if they dont get on. Or its down to you to play with your piggy lots. I also recommend giving him tubes to run through, toys to chew and plenty of exercise.
