Question
QUESTION: My guinea pig is pregnant and I'm guessing she has 1-2 weeks of pregnancy left. She had been living outside with her mate and a bunny up until 5 days ago and all was well. I brought her inside because I think her due date is nearing. Now, she hasn't touched her water bottle for 3 days. Do I force her to drink with a syringe or trust that she'll drink when she's thirsty? I'm sure she gets some water from her fresh fruits and veggies, but nothing sufficient enough for her and her young ones. Please answer when you get a chance.

Thank you for your devotion to a website like this.

ANSWER: Hello Sherrida,
is she eating though as well??? You will need to give her water with a dropper though. I would personally call a vet to see if something may be wrong. Also, I do know of something that may entice her to drink more water. A lot of guinea pigs love the taste. It's Oasis vitamin drops you can only find that at PetSmart though. We would give it to the guinea pigs at the pet store and they loved it and would drink a lot of water which is good.

QUESTION: Thank you for the advice. I will look into in the morning. I also read that they like Pedialite. Have you heard of that before?

Isabelle is definately still eating! She loves her alfalfa, pellets, treats, fruits and veggies. She's a good little eater.

Thank you again

Answer
Yup 1/2 pedialyte and 1/2 water provides some good nutrition but generally I prefer the Oasis vitamin drops. Look for the Oasis vitamin drops for Guinea Pigs. :) I must say I believe it's the orange flavor that drives them crazy. All of our guinea pigs loved the water though. :)
