Secreting smelly white chalky stuff

Question
My male guinea pig recently started secreting this really rancid white chalky stuff when I try to cuddle with him.  This has never happened before and it only happens when I handle him.  Do you know why he would be doing this and is there any way to get him to stop doing this?

Answer
Hi Tracey,

To put it delicately ... he's really enjoying what you're doing. He sounds like a happy, healthy, hormonally charged boy. If he had another male guinea pig to live with, they would rumble and play together and perform dominance rituals, and he would find pleasure in this. If he had a female companion, they would mate (but obviously babies would follow). As it is, you're his main contact so it's you who stroke and tickles him where he likes it.

I hope this helps!

Best wishes,
Jenny.
