old male and young female

hey i have a 5 year old male who is being bullied by his cage mate. we also have a 2 year old female. would it be ok to put the old male in with the female? we have tested there compatability and he doesnt purr at her or even seem to acknowledge shes a girl.

It doesnt surprise me that your male doesnt show interest in mating with your female. He is getting advanced in years.

However, I would be irresponsible if I didnt warn you that there is still a small possibility that the male still might rediscover his male urges.

If the male does manage to get the female pregnant, and the female has never had babies, then she wont be able to give birth now as her pelvic bones have fused together and she would die, along with the babies during pregnancy.

I hope I have given you information to make your decision. Personally, I wouldnt risk it, mainly for the female age reason I gave.
