Why is GP losing his voice?

Question
I have a happy, healthy "almost" 4 yr old gp "Juno". He lost his brother last year and lives alone. I've notice these past couple of weeks when he goes to squeak, he has no voice! He gets a good variety in his diet (timothy hay 2x day, veggies & fruit of around 1 cup/day). He gets let out of his cage every day for playtime and exercise for at least 1hr. He's very peppy otherwise. Why no voice? He doesn't have runny eyes, his poops are normal. Can you help?

Answer
I'm not sure.  I've never heard of an otherwise healthy guinea pig's voice changing.  Make sure he's not exhibiting any symptoms of a URI.  You may want to just give the vet a call and see what they think.

Let me know if I can help with anything else,
Lauren
