Question
in winter when we have the central heating on do guinea pigs prefer to be in a room without central heating or dont they mind? Do they prefer to be warm or cooler?

Answer
The best tempurature to keep a guinea pig at is between 65 and 75 degrees, always try to avoid sitting a guinea pig's cage directly in front of a vent, but as long as the tempurature doesn't get above at least 80 degrees the pig should be fine. All of my guinea pigs are in heated and air conditioned rooms and do just fine. Guinea Pigs are from the Andes Montain area in Peru and South America so they do prefer to be cooler, the only thing you have to watch out for is heat stroke when the tempurature gets above 80 degrees. Let me know if you have any more questions.
