Question
Hi there!

I have a 4 mo. old female and recently got her a 4 week old friend (her old friend died of a URI :( ) They were separated for a week and a half to be sure that the new piggie was healthy, but after introductions they do not seem to get along! My older piggie appears to be too dominant and constantly harasses the baby--they don't exactly "fight" but the baby gets chased away from all of the sleeping sites. Right now they are in the same 7.5 sq. foot cage that I have separated down the middle. Will both of them still get the social interaction they need even though they are not in direct contact? I feel bad for the baby because now she doesnt have anyone to snuggle with and it's not her fault!! And I know that the bigger the cage the better, so i built them a huge coroplast cage to run in and now it's split in half :(  Is this going to be ok for them??

Answer
Hi Krystal,
Just put them together and watch them and see how the get along. If she seems to be hurting the baby then separate them immediately but daily put them together and see how they interact. When you divide the cage make sure they can see and smell each other through the divider.
Hope this helps,
Christine
