guienea pig new cage

we recently changed our G.P. cage(a larger cage), he was using one end as the bathroom making clean up easier. since the  new cage he is pooping and peeing around the entire diameter of the cage, any ideas why?  I heard they do not poop where they sleep.

They will poop where they sleep. mine do it all the time.

Now, as to to pooping and peeing around the perimeter, they will do this  often when they are in new surroundings. It is normal but if it continues for longer than a few more weeks, then he will probably stay that way.
