Question
hey , i have a 6 year old female and a 2 year old male together in the same cage and theyve been together for about 6 months and they refuse to mate. I can tell that they love eachother to death cuz they cuddle and watch out for eachother but they wont make babies and i dont know why. Whats going on?

Well, it's a good thing they won't mate, because at this point, your female isn't viable.  What I mean by that is that she is too old to have a litter.  It's probably a good thing.  If you want to breed your animals, I would try a younger sow, preferably one who is under 8 months old.  After 1 year, they are not able to have babies successfully if they've never been bred.  Their pelvic bones fuse together and she and the pups will die in labor.

Hope this information is helpful.  If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me!  Good luck!
