If you are talking about bedding, Aspen is the safe wood (pine and cedar are NOT safe). If you are talking about as chew toys, stick to the prepackaged wood chews for rodents or birds that you find in the pet section of most stores. They are safe and won't splinter and hurt your pet when chewed on like woods from the yard may. Wood from the yard may also harbor poisons and germs that can kill your piggy, so it's safer to use ones special made for pets. Hope this answers your question.
