abcess

My guinea pig has an abcess on her back thats oozing puss. I had her at the vet who told me there was no treatment for this except an operation that the guinea pig may not survive. He told me just to keep squeezing the puss out every time it fills up. Do you know of a treatment that would sort this problem other than just squeezing it?

Squeezing the puss out is good, though an abscess is an infection to a wound. So a mild antiseptic would also be good and help shorten the problem. I recommend using a mild antiseptic called Bactine. It is mild but is strong enough to kill germs.
Just put a little of that on the abscess after you squeeze the puss out. It should heal up faster that way.
