guinea pigs and rabbits together

Question
Dear Kristen,
One of my two guinea pigs died a few months ago, but my parents don't want me to get any more guinea pigs.  Soon I'll be starting a rabbit project for FFA, and I was wondering if I could get a small breed of rabbit and let it live with my guinea pig.  This might be the only way to get my guinea pig a friend so she won't be lonely. I read that rabbits can give guinea pigs this bacteria (Bordetella Bronchiseptica), but even the pet store houses them together.  My guinea pig is used to rabbits too because she used to hang out with a rabbit I once had.  If I did get a rabbit would there be any ways I could prevent my guinea pig from being infected and still house them together?  Thanks and have a good 4th of July!
Jessica

Answer
Hey Jessica, thanks and Gp's and rabbits can be housed together and I think it's fine to put them together. I have never heard of that disease before. I don't think it will infect your guinea pig at all. They should be fine together. Tell me how it works out, and have a good 4th also!! please rate me and feel free to ask more ?'s!
